The TMAGgots run quirky, unique & fun events for the young @ heart that help us to experience the arts, history, culture, heritage and the sciences in new & interesting ways. We proudly declare we're "culture vultures". Check us out & come to an event sometime ..

What the ...?

The TMAGgots are a small not-for-profit volunteer-run community organisation with the sole aim of connecting people with the arts, culture, history, heritage and science through the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery and other places. If you like things a little bit different, a little bit quirky, then you'll love what we do!

We hold regular events throughout the year, usually in Hobart and it's immediate surrounds, which are based on exhibitions or happenings at the TMAG, and events or activities of appeal elsewhere. Join us for some hearty cultural gluttony...

Watch
out for ...

So far this year we've explored private boatsheds at Cornelian Bay, been guided through the Patrick Hall exhibition by the artist himself, drawn still life sketches of the wild and kooky TMAG collection, seen what one artist can do with 43,000 pegs, had a behind-the-scenes tour of Moonah Arts Centre (MAC), and had a total blast at our Annual Quiz. And we're only just half way through the year - PHEW! Were you lucky enough to get along and join the fun?

If you missed out, don't worry, we have heaps of cool, quirky & interestingly informative things left on the calendar!

Details will be out soon on our next event which has the working title of Plants vs Zombies...hmmm, stay tuned...!

Upcoming events – both ours and others – we think you might enjoy include:

Check out the Vanishing Point exhibition on at IMAS until mid July. An art/science collaboration on ocean plastics, it includes work by TMAGgot Sophie Carnell.

Current exhibitions @ TMAG

This year is looking jam-packed with a range of cool events and activities, with something for everyone, from still life and life drawing sessions; cool exhibitions to check out at TMAG; a visit to explore curious parts of UTAS and hopefully a trip to the TMAG Rosny storage facility.

2015 is a great year to connect with the TMAGgots, so keep an eye out for updates, sign-up as a member or guest and come along and join us in the fun as we get creative, gain some insight into the places that make Hobart tick and join the fun with some like-minded culture vultures ..
